My life has been spent as an animal lover. I grew up in a family that had many different pets including horses, cats, rabbits, birds, dogs, ducks, fish and even a monkey.
In 1972, I received my first Golden Retriever, Jacob, as a present. He became my first show Champion. In December of 1975, I had my first litter of Goldens under the Jayba prefix (a combination of the names of my first two Goldens Jacob and Sheba). I have bred and owned more than 60 Golden Retriever show Champions, along with OTCH’s, many other obedience titles, Agility Dogs, Licensed Field Trial Dogs, Working Certificates, Outstanding Sires and Dams, and just about every title recognized by AKC and the Golden Retriever Club of America.
In 1986, Dazzle, our first Cavalier, came into our life as a gift for our daughter Michelle to show in Junior Showmanship. Soon Michelle and Dazzle were “dazzling” everyone in the junior’s ring and consistently winning the blue ribbon. We were all, by then, totally in love with the Cavalier and over the course of many years gradually turned our full attention to the showing and breeding of Cavaliers.
I have been privileged to be loved by many wonderful Cavaliers. I have owned or bred dogs that have earned CKCSC, USA, AKC and Canadian Championship titles, numerous Best In Shows, Reserve Best in Shows, Best Puppy In Show and most recently the new JW title, 2006 Puppy of the Year Award, the Top Winning #1 Cavalier for 2007 and 2008 CKCSC, USA and the 2008 CKCSC, USA National Specialty Best In Show and at the same show the Reserve Best in Show. Our father and son team of Macnab and Teddy have also been awarded top Awards of Merit at the 2006, 2007, and 2008 ACKCSC National Specialties
I am pleased to be in the process of earning my CKCSC, USA and AKC Judges licenses, judging sweepstakes in both venues. I hope that by doing so I will contribute in some small way to preserving the type, structure, and temperament of our beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
I am extremely lucky to be joined in the “adventure of my life” by a very supportive dog showing family. My husband Michael and my daughter Michelle are making up Champions in their own right, and play a very strong role in the development of our dogs. Our son Benjamin is currently living and working in New York City, and is also an animal lover.
In addition to showing and breeding, Michael and I have developed a very successful dog diet which is being fed to many of the top show dogs and loved pets in the USA., www.healthypetdiet.com. All our dogs and puppies are raised on our healthy, natural diet which is reflected in their great health, condition and appearance.
Our main goal has always been to have our puppy buyers proud and happy to be owned by wonderful, healthy, beautiful, loving Cavaliers that are excellent representatives of the breed. These puppies are the direct descendants of the numerous Champion show dogs we have been fortunate to own, show and breed, and they are the product of 36 years of experience.
We are committed and passionate about the development and preservation of the beautiful, healthy, and loving Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
